Calvary is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the United States’ largest Lutheran denomination. Our presiding bishop is Mark Hansen. The ELCA is divided into 65 geographical synods, of which we are a member of the Greater Milwaukee Synod. The ELCA is comprised of over 4.7 million members, 10,500 congregations, 8 seminaries and 28 colleges and universities.

Lutheran CORE is a coalition of pastors, lay people, congregations and reforming groups. This coalition seeks to preserve within the Lutheran churches in North America the authority of the Word of God according to the Lutheran confessions. The intention is to work with congregations, individuals, and other reform-minded groups for the renewal of churches.

Guatemala Medical Missions

 

Guatemala Church and Medical Missions

 

 

Iglesia Senda de Luz is a growing Christian community in the mountainous region of central Guatemala. Since 2007, Calvary has supported this community through construction, financial contributions, prayer and the founding of Christians in Medical Missions. CiMM has ongoing medical mission teams traveling to Guatemala, providing surgical and holistic services free of charge.

House of Hope

 

 

Partnering with Lutheran Social Services, Calvary supports House of Hope. HoH provides halfway house services to the public. The treatment center provides residential long-term treatment care. There are special groups and programs for pregnant and postpartum women and women.
