Phil Nybroten

Philip Nybroten, Senior Pastor

Pastor Phil Nybroten grew up in the small, Swiss village of New Glarus just south of Madison, Wisconsin.  Spending the majority of his time in childhood competing in athletics and serving in the church (his father was the pastor), Pastor Phil decided to attend Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where he continued in athletics (playing baseball for the Norse) and serving the church.  It was during his time in Decorah that he met Megan (Totel), his wife.  After graduating from Luther College with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, he attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN.  Just one week after their marriage, Pastor Phil and Megan traveled to Tacoma, WA where he served as an intern pastor. Upon graduation from Luther Seminary in 2002 with a Master of Divinity Degree, Pastor Phil was called to serve as Associate Pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookfield, WI.  In 2005, he was called to serve as Interim Senior Pastor and in 2006 Pastor Phil accepted the call to serve as Calvary’s Senior Pastor.

Pastor Phil enjoys reading “Theological” books, competing in just about any sport, and most of all, spending time with his wife, Megan, and son, Noah.
