Numerous opportunities, ministries and small groups abound at Calvary for adults.  Each of these includes elements of fellowship, serving, and faith growing. Browse the selections to find the group or groups that suit your wants and needs.

For Women

Esther Circle

Bring a sandwich and join us for Bible study every 3rd Tuesday of the month at noon at Calvary.

Naomi Circle

This group meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 1:30 pm at Calvary for fellowship and Christian study & discussion.

Ruth Circle

Join us the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 9:00 am at Calvary for Christian study.
 

MOMs (Ministry of Mothers)

Meets on the first Thursday of each month. 

MAC (Moms Are Cool!)

A small study/discussion/sharing group for moms which will meets during the school year on Thursdays, from 10-11 am.  Whether your kids are getting ready to graduate from high school or diapers, this caring group will encourage and support you as a mom.  Learn how to be a positive influence in your family through Jesus's love as you meet new friends.  We will meet in the youth room. Childcare provided.  If you have questions, contact Elizabeth.

Women’s Ministry Bible Study

On the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 1:00 – 2:30 pm this group meets for in-depth Bible study.
 

Women’s Ministry Book Group

This group studies literature from a Christian perspective. They meet the 2nd Monday of each month (Jan.-June; Sept.-Nov.), 1:00 - 2:30 PM at Calvary.

Quilters

Sew, seam and stitch.  Quilts are sent each year to those in need through Lutheran World Relief.  Over the past 15 years the group has made nearly 3,000 quilts!  Quilters meet from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of the month (Sep.-May.).  Bring a sandwich and enjoy the fellowship.

For Men

Men’s Ministry

This group meets every 4th Thursday evening of the month for fellowship, Bible study and prayer.  The time typically begins with food and fellowship. Once the body has been fed, the men’s ministry group works on the soul by studying and discussing Biblical topics and principles.

Men’s Breakfast

The Calvary Men’s Breakfast group meets at Maxim’s in Brookfield each Wednesday at 7:00 AM for breakfast, Bible reading, prayer, conversation, and fellowship.

Men’s Support Group

A men’s group supplying Christian support to one another to help heal from the loss of a loved one or as we travel the road of a difficult illness.  This group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at Calvary beginning at 9:00 am.

For All Adults

Sunday Adult Christian Education

This Sunday morning program offers adults the chance to continue learning about their Lord, their church, and the many opportunities available to them as adults.  Through the study of God’s word, Luther’s catechism, and topical studies, adults will broaden their understanding of what it means to be a Christ-ian.  Meets in Fellowship Hall (Sept. through May). 

This year, we will once again be utilizing the video series “Faith Lessons: That The World May Know” by Ray Vander Laan.  From September 20th thru October (except Sept. 27th-Opporunity International), we will study “the Early Church”.

FOCUS Nights Adult Studies

Beginning September 16, there will be two studies each Wednesday everning, with two opportunities each to participate. 

Bible 101 
Time and Location: 5 – 6 pm in the Youth Room; 7:15 – 8:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall
Description:  Have you ever felt intimidated during a Bible study?  Do you want to know more about the Christian faith?  Want to increase your Bible proficiency?  If you said ‘yes’ to any or all of these questions, please join us for Bible 101. 
What to Bring: Bible, Highlighter, Pen...and no fear!
 

Five Love Languages  
Time and Location: 5 – 6 pm and 7:15 – 8:30 pm in the Media Room
Description:  A five-week book study entitled, “The Five Love Languages”, based on the book by Dr. Gary Chapman.  Dr. Chapman identifies five basic languages of love and then guides couples towards a better understanding of their unique languages of love.  What communicates love to you might not mean a thing to your mate. Gary Chapman’s well-defined languages explain why so many well-meaning spouses find expressions of love so frustrating.

Weekly Bible Study

Each Wednesday at noon this group engages in in-depth study and discussion of the Bible. The group is currently studying Martin Luther. The study runs through October in preparation for the Reformation. Join us at Calvary each Wednesday noon & don’t forget your Bible!
Open to all – please come!

Church Life Ministry Team

This team plans, coordinates, and oversees the social life of Calvary.  From the Annual Picnic in September to pie socials to Christian concert outings, developing and nurturing warm Christian fellowship is the main thrust of this ministry team.  Watch the church calendar for upcoming meeting dates.

Good Samaritans

The Good Samaritans is a group of individuals helping others in need within our congregation.  They serve meals to those in need and provide luncheons following funeral services.

Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain is a long list of Calvary men & women who pray for our church members, their families, and friends in times of sickness, need, crisis, celebration, or any other reason to make our “requests known to God.” Submit prayer requests to the church office.

Mission Servant Week

Check out the MSW page for information about serving out in the surrounding community during one special week in June.

Small Groups

Beyond the women’s, men’s and adult groups listed here, Calvary has a host of other small groups.  These small groups usually range in size from 6 -12 people may be organized around location, stage of life, marital status, special interests, and other needs. Some meet at members’ homes, others meets at area restaurants, and still others meet at Calvary.  Check out our Small Group page for a more complete listing.

Music

Opportunities for involvement in the music ministry at Calvary are numerous.  Whether your talent lies in the vocal or instrumental area, Calvary has a place for you.  Like music, but not musically gifted?  Opportunities are available in music ministry support.  Check out Music Ministry page for more information.
